Do you sometimes struggle expressing your emotions effectively?

MEn's Issues

Men's Therapy in Elm Grove, WI

Perhaps you feel like you express your emotions accurately, but others only see anger. Maybe you’ve had a recent conflict with your significant other and they’re telling you to seek therapy. You might find yourself easily losing patience with your partner or your kids, or simply shutting down when a problem arises that you don’t want to deal with. Perhaps you’re feeling guilty about how you handle these problems.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:
  • You’re feeling like you’re not good enough as a parent or spouse
  • You’re avoiding important situations that could cause more conflict
  • You’re struggling to stay focused in your work

Men's Therapy can help

It may feel impossible now, but you can be a better spouse/parent/sibling/friend. You can manage conflict effectively to improve your relationships. You can carry yourself with true confidence in your roles. And I can help you get there.

Men's Therapy helps in many ways:
  • It acknowledges the male experience and the pressure placed on men both by society as a whole and within our families
  • It allows you identify what your true feelings are beyond anger and frustration and helps you put them into accurate words
  • It assists you in learning helpful and effective forms of communication so you can address conflict productively and strengthen your relationships

I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to Men's Therapy comes from a place of appreciation for the male experience; allowing us to answer the question: How can I improve my relationships while maintaining my sense of manhood and masculinity?

It’s time to build confidence through healthy masculinity

Frequently Asked Questions

q: How long do I need to be in therapy?

Q: What is healthy masculinity?

A: Healthy masculinity promotes a more balanced view of manhood that encourages concepts of traditional masculinity such as strength, independence, and courage while valuing emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and vulnerability.

A: There is no set answer to how long you can participate in therapy. My approach always puts you first. If you’re finding therapy to be beneficial and you’re eager to continue building skills, we’ll continue. If you’ve found that you’ve gotten what you needed out of therapy and you’re ready to give life a go without therapeutic support, we’ll discontinue. My goal is to help you build skills and confidence to go forward without therapy, not to keep you in therapy forever.

Q: How do I know if male-centered therapy will work for me?

A: While I make no guarantees, I am confident you will benefit in a positive way if you are: motivated to make changes, want to have healthier relationships, and are ready to do the work.
