Do you sometimes avoid things like social events or work meetings because they make you uncomfortable?

Anxiety in Men

Anxiety Therapy for Men in Elm Grove, WI

Maybe you’re worried about looking stupid - if you slip up or act awkward other people won’t like you. You may have a feeling of dread or feel ill before these situations. You might sometimes get that dreaded feeling for no apparent reason at all. When that feeling builds for too long it may lead to panic.

That feeling is anxiety and it can impact your life in many ways:
  • Overthinking every interaction you have with others
  • Worrying about the outcomes of your work or ‘what happens if…’
  • Feeling insecure in your friendships and relationships

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help

You might feel stuck right now, but you can build the confidence you’ve always wanted. It's possible to control your anxiety and face your insecurities. With my help, you can make this a reality.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you do three things:
  • Identify and shift the negative thought patterns and beliefs contributing to anxiety
  • Acquire skills to help you manage anxiety in the moment
  • Learn to stop avoiding situations that cause anxiety so you can pursue your goals

I will guide you through this journey, personalizing every step to fit your individual needs and situation. My approach to anxiety therapy comes from a place of awareness : as someone who has experienced anxiety and panic, I’ve learned to apply skills to successfully manage it and I know you can do the same.

Anxiety and overthinking don’t have to be your story.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if CBT will work for me?

Q: What are CBT sessions like?

A: CBT sessions are about learning concepts and applying them to your unique experience. Using CBT we can recognize how our thoughts and behaviors impact our emotions. My approach focuses on perspective taking using logic and objective reasoning - which tends to be less ‘touchy-feely’ than what you picture when you think of therapy.

A: CBT is a somewhat engaging approach, meaning there will often be things to think about or focus on in between sessions. While I make no guarantees, I firmly believe that if you’re willing to put in the effort to make positive changes CBT is going to help you with that.

Q: What is the initial session like?

A: The initial session is a little different than follow up sessions because it is important for me to gather information and get to know you and your circumstances. It is also a great time for you to ask any questions and share any information that is important for me know.

A: Reach out to me via the button below or give me a call at 414-207-4160. I’m happy to answer any questions and respond to any concerns you may have. If you’re ready to schedule, you can do so online with the 'Schedule a Session' button below.

Q: How do we get started?

I can help you build the skills needed to change.
